Historical Encounters

Page-turning Adventure

“I love this kind of story! The characters are wonderfully written and the book contains a diabolical villain that you will truly love to hate. The author, A. K. Patch, has woven gritty fiction into Greek history and used a plethora of characters to make this story truly impressive. At the beginning, Lauren and Zack, two university professors are living the “good life” in San Diego. Before long they are swept through time to ancient Greece and the land of the Spartans, fight for their own survival, and, in turn, learn a lot about life and themselves. The writing is superb and the story moves along smartly, never boring. There are lots of surprises, twists and turns, and people to love and hate. It’s clear that the author really knows his history, and the battle scenes are so descriptive that the reader feels like he or she is right in the middle of the action. I can easily see this book and the ones that follow as a series of hit movies. I’ll be in line to get the next one, that’s for sure.” By Robert M. Sullivan
